corrupt root
2 TopicsRNDU2000 cant factory reset
Hi, I recently bought a second hand READYNAS RNDU2000 FM:V4.2.19. The previous owner told me it had a corrupt root error which could be solved with a factory reset. I have placed a recently formatted (NTFS) 1TB drive in to the bay, switch it on and confirmed there was a corrupt root error. I checked the forum and followed the suggestions for a factory reset. The unit doesnt seem to respond to the factory reset, no flashing lights etc. Now the NAS isnt even getting picked up by READYNAS RAIDar. Can anyone please shine some light on what has happen and a possible solution? Thanks in advance, MichaelReadynas Duo v2 Getting either bad discs or corrupt root
I had this Duo v2 working with 2 WD 3tb drives on the compatibility list. They were getting close to full so I got 2 WD 4tb discs to trade out the 3tb discs. I started by removing disc 2 and replacing with a 4tb. The unit would not sync the drive so I tried to put the 3tb back in and it would not sync either. I tried to do a factory reset and it gave me the error bad discs. I tried to do an OS reinstall and it said corruped root. I removed the discs and put just one back in slot 1 and tried again. Then I swapped the drives and tried againn with factory default and both said either bad discs on factory default or corrupted root on OS reinstall. What should I try next?
