Hi, I'm on a ReadyNAS NV+ v2, with RAIDiator 5.3.11. I had it configured for X-RAID2 with 3x 2GB drives and one older 512GB drive. A few days ago the 512GB drive failed, leaving the array unprotected. No big deal - I stuck a 2GB drive in instead of the failed drive, and left it to sync up. It did leave me with the ominous message: RAID sync finished on volume C. The array is still in degraded mode, however. This can be caused by a disk sync failure or failed disks in a multi-parity disk array. But I figured that wasn't too big of a deal - all the hard disks were still lit up green in raidiator and everything else seemed ok. However this morning when I looked half my files were gone! No warning emails or anything. Before the sync, all my files were there, as I checked and managed to back a few of them up. Looking at the logs I now see pages of: Apr 23 04:22:13 nv kernel: EXT4-fs error (device dm-0): ext4_find_entry: reading directory #3969027 offset 0 Apr 23 04:22:13 nv kernel: EXT4-fs error (device dm-0): __ext4_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=3048192, block=48758863 Apr 23 04:22:13 nv kernel: EXT4-fs error (device dm-0): __ext4_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=1051475, block=16777429 Apr 23 04:22:13 nv kernel: EXT4-fs error (device dm-0): __ext4_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=1057490, block=16777805 Apr 23 04:22:13 nv kernel: EXT4-fs error (device dm-0): __ext4_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode block - inode=1057491, block=16777805 in system.log. What can I do? Is there a way to recover these files? I thought this was the whole point of having a NAS.Solved3.6KViews0likes17CommentsReady NAS 102 in accessible (corrupt root)
Netgear Community: I have been using a ReadyNAS DUO V2 device with a single WDC WD20EFRX 2TB HDD without issue. At this time, the device is not accessible, does not register as being on my home network. As of November 24, I found the device inaccessible, and have been looking for answers. With the help of RAIDar 6.2 (for Windows), I see I have a "Status: corrupt root", the "Firmware" is *blank*, the IP address is shown, and the single drive installed in the device shows with a green check mark, and a capacity of about 1863GB. I attempted an "OS reinstall" prior to finding RAIDar and the fact that the LEDs were controlled by the "Backup" button suggest the enclosure itself is operable. I have seen the reference for a "USB recovery" along with the cautions that this ONLY be initiated through Netgear support. My questions are: 1. Is the content of the HDD presumed to be intact (based on the green check mark of RAIDar)? 2. Can >this< HDD be loaded into another, newer (current) Netgear product, and have its content intact and accessible? 3. Can the HDD be accessed *outside* of the ReadyNAS enclosure? 4. If I purchase and install a NEW, unitialized HDD, would that achieve a recovery, such that I could return the current disk to Bay 1, then initiate a RAID operation to the *new* disk in Bay 2? 5. Can the USB recovery process be executed WITHOUT having a HDD installed in the ReadyNAS device? Thanks in advance for your helpful replies.3.9KViews0likes6CommentsReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus will not boot, corrupt firmware suspected but need help...
Hi, I read another posting "ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus can't find on Raidar/network" and I understand mdgm can help if you have corrupted boot wich I suspect. I did do some manual add of packages to the system and suddenly it did not boot. I have removed the disks and checked in PC with disktool and they are both ok. I have tried all OS reinstall, fatory reset and also USB restore with several USB-keys. Nothing works....need help. Thanks Daniel RNDU2000 FW: 4.2.283.8KViews0likes9CommentsiSCSI corruption. Bitlocker locked? Not looking good, ALL my data!
So my LUN Volume has been working great with iSCSI initiators on windows 8.1 and now 10. No problem. Today, after upgrading my Surface Pro 3 to win 10,. I create a new initiator on the admin page for ReadyNAS, connect with the iSCSI initiator. and it connected, but right away had a exclamation mark thing over the drive letter in explorer for each drive. It was lagging bad and would keep giving (not responding) message in explorer. After a few mins I disconnected the initiator from the target and moved back to my main desktop PC. I reconnected on that PC like I normally have been, and now all of the drives are showing that exclamation point icon, and the drive that I was actually trying to access from the surface P3 is showing as bitlocker locked. If I try to open any of the drives in explorer, it says disk corruption or damaged. This is really freaaking me out being that this is literally all of my data and I am new to NAS so I was thinking that being that I had RAID 5 I was safe. It never occuired to me that I would lose 4 HDDs at once. Is there anything I can do or am I totally boned here? Please help and thank you in advance for ANY help.5.5KViews0likes9Comments
