15 TopicsDHCP - Need to release IP addresses
Hi, I want a "release" function on UTM50 as it is in many other routers. We often do a lot of test on PDA's and tablets and the IP addresses is not enough. The test itself take maybe 15 minutes and then we take one more units and so on (we also have 5 to 10 units at the same time). The standard lease is 24 h and we have lowered it to 1 h but that is not enough for us. A simple release function should do the trick, then we can release the units we want or just release all. This function is on a lot of routers today.15KViews4likes1CommentEX7000, impossibile ottenere l'indirizzo IP
Grazie in anticipo per l'attenzione.7.8KViews0likes1Commentunable to login through www [ReadyNas 104 10400]
Hello, I have following device: - ReadyNas 104 (RN104) - Operating with 6.0.X software (from what I recall) And I have following problem: - Can't IP access it: This site can’t provide a secure connection 192.168.1.3 doesn't adhere to security standards. ERR_SSL_SERVER_CERT_BAD_FORMAT - earlier I was able to see the login page, but it didn't let me in, the pswd recovery thingy didnt allow me to send a reset, and the password that I used was not accepted (kept reloading the page to show me the login box again) - now I'm still able to access it through Windows and copy forth and back things, and I can still access the admin login page from mobile browser. but. it repeats the problem with relogging the login page. What is wrong, what could be damaged and what is the possible solution for this? I feel a little bit helpless, especially now, when I need to move to a new laptop. Thanks in advance for any help. [System used: Windows 8.1] Regards, Marcin3.8KViews0likes17CommentsNAS RAID 1 performance and free space percentage
Hi, We have a RR4312x0 using Flex raid. Two of the disks are RAID 1. The logs report that they are below 20% free and therefore performacnce will degrade. What is the safe percentage level? This RAID 1 volume is home to an iSCSI LUN so I was hoping to use its entire capacity for the LUN. If I need to reduce the LUN size then so be it but I'd love to know how much space of a 2TB volume I can give to it. Also, can I tie an iSCSI LUN/group to access from only 2 calling IP addresses? We have a WIndows Hyper V HOST that is direct connected via the SFP+ ports. This windows iSCSI initiator HOST is also on the same LAN as the 1Gb LAN ports that the business devices connected to the NAS SMB shares via. I need to stop this as it could potentially slow the link down. The iSCSI LUN holds Virtual server VHDs so speed is crucial. This may have been answered elsewhere but I couldn't find a similar question. I'm not talking about NAT here. I understand my devices have different IP addresses that are issued out by the router (ie 192.168.1.n) but my confusion isn't there. The problem seems to be that my "public" IP address doesn't match the routers actual IP. On the admin page, the advanced tab shows the IP address of my router (100.65.140.24). This seems to be my REAL ip address, as i can connect to my home server via port forwarding outside my home network when using that IP address. However, if i use services like http://www.whatsmyip.org then it shows my IP address differently (199.87.86.198). WHen i've set up the dynamic DNS with No-Ip, this is the same address it pushes... so it doesn't work. I don't understand why I seem to have a router IP and an "incorrect" public IP. What's going on there? Does it have something to do with my ISP - and if so, how does my router admin screen know the correct address? Could this be related to IPv6 or some other setting on my router? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thank all!Solved41KViews0likes4CommentsNighthawk R7000 Geust Network IP Addressing
We are using this router with static addressing. We are considering using the guest network, but the guest side would need to use dynamic addressing while maintaining static addressing on the other side. Also, we would like to limit the number of users logged in to the guest network. I am not really clear on how to accomplish this and am asking for advice.Solved3.2KViews0likes1CommentRipetitori NETGEAR multipli nella rete: quale risponde a "www.mywifiext.com"?
Salve a tutti. Grazie in anticipo, Davide ErricoSolvedChanging IP settings
Hey everyone, I tried to enter my router's settings to change the ip address, trying to make it work as an access point to extend another router's signal in my house. I guess i did something in the DHCP -if i'm not mistaken- and now i'm not able to access settings anymore. There is no internet connection on this router which is not necessary to access seetings, but since then, it's always giving me an error that there is no internet connection when i type the ip in the browser to access settings. Pleas advise. Thank you allSolvedTrying to change Switch to get DHCP address on Vlan 10 or assign it a static on VLAN 10
Hello, I'm not familiar with Netgear VLANs. My default data network is on vlan 10. My network has all the vlans controlled through the firewall (I do not want any routing through the switch between vlans). The firewall passes out DHCP on VLAN 10 , 20 etc. I have the switch plugged in to port 1 all vlans tagged, PVID 10. With the switch connected on port 1 configure with all vlans tagged, pvid vlan 10 the switch doesn’t get an IP but it does let attached workstations get a vlan 10 dhcp address and they can get to the internet. With the switch connected on port 1 configure with all vlans tagged, pvid vlan 10 and VLAN 1 removed from the port the switch doesn’t get an IP but it does let attached workstations get a vlan 10 dhcp address and they can get to the internet. With the switch connected on port 1 configured with vlan 10 untagged, pvid 10 – I get no ip on the switch but a vlan 1 dhcp address on the workstation. I’ve tried changing the VLAN management VLAN but all I can do is change the down arrow – to vlan 10 – I can’t set the vlan management IP and changing it to 10 doesn’t let it get a dhcp on vlan 10 it still gets it on vlan 1 I do not normally delete the default VLAN but I don’t see how to assign an IP to each vlan on the switch either. Typically I assign the firewall the first Ip in the subnet –e.g. 10.200.272.1 and the first switch or stack the .5 address. The switch is on the current firmware. The switch can get to the internet and the workstation connected to it can also get to the internet. Let’s focus on the switch please (I have 30 other firewalls – same model connected to excite, cisco, avaya and alcatel switches with nearly identical vlans so please don’t get distracted by the firewall. I’m not saying that there is a problem with the netgear design – just that I’m not familiar with it but I’m extremely familiar with firewalls so let’s net get distracted by the firewall part of the equation. I’ve done something wrong on the switch – not the firewall so I could use help with the switch please as I’d like to learn netgear as well. I see a place to add an IP to a port and if I do, technically I can ping it but I'm concerned about routing issues that may create as on other systems I assing IPs to a switch not a specific port. So typically I can assign 10 vlans IPs on different segments to the switch. As far as I can see I can only assign one IP to a port.2.1KViews0likes2Comments
