Does anyone know of a source to see all actions which are logged? Additionally, does any one know if it specically logs 'brute force' attempts? Hardware Version R7000 Firmware Version V1.0.9.26_10.2.31 GUI Language Version V1.0.9.26_2.1.38.1 Thank You.... :-)SolvedPut timestamps on Nighthawk Log messages first, in sortable format
Putting the timestamps at the beginning in some sortable form, e.g., YYYY-MM-DD;HH:MM:SS.ttt, would allow the logs to be collected from the various mail messages and returned to their original ordering and saved in a log file, DB, NAS folder, etc.38KViews3likes5CommentsC7000-100NAS no longer emails logs
Hi folks, Just started no longer sending logs. Worked fine for quite some time. Error message is: [email failed] Failed to Connect Tcp Socket! 360 I am guessing that my email provider changed port 25, but cannot be sure. Tried three other smtp servers I have available including gmail, poutlook, etc and none work. Can you help me get this working again please? Thanks. ~Bob4.6KViews1like6CommentsViewing Router Logs
It would be great if Netgear would make just a couple minor tweaks to the Log Viewer. 1) the log_detail textarea should have a width of about 98%. I am constantly doing this through my browser's F12 tools so I can more easily read the logs. 2) each log entry should include a hostname in addition to the ip address Just my quick thoughts on how to make some simple improvements for readability and diagnostics.E-mailing logs
I am trying to set up my router so it will e-mail me the logs everytime they are full. I am compleying all of the fields and clicking "apply" and its mot saving any of the information. The screen refreshes and everything is deleted. I tried several times with no luck. Any suggestions? A secondary question: do i need to have my own mail server? I use web based programs such as yahoo and gmail. Do i need to have something set up on my own network? Thanks in advance!!Solvedemailing logs
I'm trying to set up E-MAil logs on the FVS338. Years ago this already worked successfully. E-Mail Server: securesmtp.t-online.de Custom SMTP Port: 587 E-Mail User account from ISP: t-online I have ticked "Login Plain" entering username and password from ISP t-online. I have ticked "Respond to Identd from SMTP Server. The FVS338 ist installed directly behind a FRITZBOX 7490. The fritzbox is connected to the VDSL Line. Basically there is a DMZ between the FRITZBOX 7490 and the FVS338 but with now additional devices connected to it. FVS338 Firmware: 3.1.1-08 (Latest version) IP Address Fritzbox 7490: 192.168.2.1 Gateway address in FVS338: 192.168.2.1 Satic IP Address from FVS338: 192.168.2.109 LAN TCP/IP Setup: IP Address: 192.168.100.109 in FVS338 DHCP Server in FVS338 is enabled. Using FVS338 Diagnostics, it can resolve the SMTP-server securesmtp.t-online.de. Ping on resolved IP-Addresses is working fine. Checking the SMTP-server login data using the FRITZBOX 7490 is successful ( I'm receiving Mails from the Push service of the Fritzbox 7490) Checking SMTP-Server settings using Microsoft Outlook / POP3 is successful as well. All internet applications are working excellent. When Trying to send Logs via E-MAil (Menu: "Firewall Logs & EMail/View Log/"SendLog") , the router responds with "Connection interrupted" No e-Mails are sent out or received by my E-Mail provider. My Question: What is wrong in my FVS338 Settings ? Is there a possibility to check the communication problem of the FVS338 with the SECURSSMTP.t-online.de ? ( I do not see any log-entry in the Log data) I would be glad if someone could help me. Best Regards RalfSolved5.2KViews0likes2CommentsR8500 Log Files Not Clearing
I've setup daily log file emails. After receiving the message I usually check the log and then clear it. The next day I get the same log file. I've tried clearing, refresshing and applying but I still get the log file daily... for the most part. Sometimes it actually gets cleared. What's going on?Solved4.8KViews0likes13CommentsATA Errors Not In System Log
Thought I'd comment on a curiosity that arose from a weird situation where a 516 spent 10+ hours syncing a drive replacing a missing member of a RAID6 array. But upon finishing it simply faulted it again. I'd logged in fresh to the web UI, and nothing I saw gave a quick clue as to WHY it'd failed the drive again. Upon reseating the drive, the issue became more apparent... quickly there were a ton of warnings in the web UI about I/O errors to the disk. ATA error count over 3000 -- for a drive that had heretofor been under 50. So clearly an issue. But when I went looking at the system log there was ZERO mention of these alerts. And since this NAS is prepped to be on someone else's home LAN, it's email alerts aren't going out (until he connects it in it's proper home). So that would have been another vector for being advised of the issue, for sure. I do keep wondering though why such alerts aren't logged into the system log though... I think that would be quite helpful in situations where someone is diagnosing problems and tries to isolate faults without the benefit of a live web session or copies of email alerts.3.1KViews0likes2Comments
