3 Topicshow mount the usb drive from Linux
From a linux box, I'm trying to mount the drive I have plugged into the router. Following the instructions here: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/448263 I get this error: mount error(13): Permission denied Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) The RedHat guide says if I see that error: Please verify the permission on the folder on you windows machine and try again mount the share folder. Looking at the drive permissions on the router's 192.168.1.1 page, I see Write = "All - no password" Read = "All - no password" and no way to "verify the permission" on the folder or change anything (like, assign a password for example). If anyone knows how to mount this drive I'd appreciate it. I very much want to mount it rather than unplug it because Windows runs File History backup on it constantly. Also, I tried to set permissions on it using windows but the new settings would disappear when I clicked "Apply" When I view the permissiions in windows, nothing is checked. Router Firmware: 1.0.2.4_9.1.86 Linux Version: CentOS 7.3 Windows Version: 10 Pro That's all the detail I can think of. Thanks! Oh ... I cross-posted to stackexchange the view from the linux side here: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/344427/how-can-i-mount-from-centos7-a-drive-shared-from-a-home-router-using-samba I've found posts about the same thing for other netgear products like, here: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS/How-to-map-to-NAS-share-from-Linux-by-CLI/td-p/845944SolvedNot able to connect to NAS-share on Mac OS 10.11.6
Hi, I have a really bizare issue and am really at loss ... In a small network, there's a mac mini, an iMac and a MacBook Pro, all running 10.11.6. The mini and the MacBookPro can connect to the "data" share with the user "pascal". With the iMac, I can connect to frontview, even connect to the share via http in a webbrowser with this user "pascal", but smb or afp do not work. I can connect to the IP-adres, which then shows me the share but connecting to the share always throws me an error that I cannot connect to the server ... The MacBook Pro are on the same switch and I even tried using the same cable, the results stay the same. Network settings are the same. Anyone any ideas where I need to go looking. I'm assuming Netgear will not be willing to help as this is clearly a mac related issue, but I was wondering if there would be anything visible on the NAS. Hello Netgear Community!!! First, I apologize for my english (I'm french). I've got a problem on my ReadyNAS Ultra 2 (2 * 2 terabyte) sync on X-RAID to mirroring my datas between my 2 HDD. A few days ago, one HDD has failed. Later, unable to connect to nas shares. I immediatly look at the logs and I see : "The paths for the shares listed below could not be found. Typically, this occurs when the readyNAS is unable to access the data volume. .....<list of the shares>....". I then go in the volume management menu and I see an other pop-up error who accurate no volume is mounted. I decide to connect through SSH. When I list disk partitions (fdisk -l), I note that the partition that contains the datas is not present. I've tried to mount many partitions that I see into /dev without success. My questions are : - Is there someone who has had this problem or almost the same ? - How to solve it ? - Is it possible to read X-RAID disk on ubuntu system, GParted or other linux distribution ? I think it's a firmware problem when the nas mounting volumes, or a security of its system (X-RAID) that stop the mounting of volumes as the failed HDD has not be changed. My readynas contains 12 years of family pics, personal documents and working files, so I will be disappointed to have lost everything. Thank's a lot If you have the solution !!!
