NAS 312 OS 6.6.1 - Office Word 2016 on Mac and 'lock' files
Hi all, hopefull ythe images below will give you the correct idea. Microsoft Word creates ~$ lock files in the same location as the where the document is held. Is it usual for these to be represented in the NAS as actual folders? It is confusing the living hell out of end users! The parent file is the doc starting with filename "F12a..." located in the centre. You can see the folder beneath it. Odd folders that have the same name as the parent file apart from some random stuff after the file extension. Ordinarily on a machine these would be hidden so it's a worry they are seen. If I look at the same folder using a Readycloud app connection on a Windows machine the display is similar BUT I can actually see the ~$ files too. Is it a "Mac" & Office thing? Is the NAS creating these folders to make sense of the filenames or is it being done by Word? I have also seen this occur with PDF files too. Many thanks Andy
