A few days ago, the router dropped most of the 2.5 ghz devices. Each device thought they were connected but with no internet. Logging into the router, I saw none of the devices connected. All of the 5 ghz devices had no problems. Resetting the router helps, but it keeps happening a couple times a day. I changed the QOS settings from manual to auto. Hasn't crashed again but I only just tried it. I'm concerned that the router is dying. Any other ideas I can try?Solved3KViews0likes3CommentsNighthawk R6700v2 losing connection to CM700 Modem
Hi there, We are relatively new Comcast Xfinity custmers and decided to buy our own Modem (CM700) and Router (Nighthawk R6700v2). Every morning we find that our computers are disconnected from the internet (DNS Server error), although the Comcast Home Security system is connected through our Modem... and I can access the Internet on my phone when the computers show they are disconnected, however. Each morning, I have manually reset the modem. Today, however, I reset the router instead and the system came back up... which suggests the problem is with the router. I have been told Comcast send updates around midnight every day... and thought this might be causing the modem/routers issues... Our Nighthawk router just suddenly stopped transmitting the wireless signal a few days ago. I have a PS4 that's connected via an Ethernet cable that goes from the modem, to the router, to the PS4, and it's still connected to internet. So I know Comcast isn't the problem, and the modem isn't the problem. On the front of the router, the power light, the internet light, and the the (Ethernet) 1 light are on, but the lights for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz are off. I've tried disconnecting and restarting both the modem and the router, but the router still has the same problem. My Vuezone base station would not connect (via ethernet) to the new router I just installed, Netgear Nighthawk 6700. The power light on the the VueZone base station is solid blue and the Internet light is blinking, which indicate it is connected; however, when I login to view my camera, the app says that none of the cameras are available for viewing and I cannot restart the base station. Netgear Nighthawk R6700 that I just upgraded to firmware V1.0.1.20_10.0.3. It seems to have killed the 5G radio. I have confirmed with a wifi environment analysis utility (Mac OS "WiFi Explorer" application) that the 5G wifi zone no longer exists. 2.4G radio and signal are fine. (It's not a signal strength problem because my wifi environment is not crowded and the 5G signal:noise ratio was somethig line 50dB before it went away. Normally the 5G zone shows up very strong.) Configuration is unchanged to that which worked before the upgrade. Router runs in AP mode (not router mode) and is hard-wired to another Netgear router (C7000-100NAS) that is also my cable modem interface. All routers and wifi AP's have unique wifi zone names. Things I have tried: -- rebooting the router in software -- power-disconnecting the router for 30+ seconds -- reverting to factory settings, both via web interface and via the recessed hard reset button (held for 7 seconds) -- disabling the radio under "advanced wifi settings", applying changes, then re-enabling it again -- enabling smart merge of 2.4G and 5G zones, applying changes, then disabling it again -- changing radio signal strength from 100% to 50%, applying changes, then restoring full strength again -- changing the radio's broadcast channel -- disabling and re-enabling wifi with the LED-illuminated hard button on the right front corner of the router case I'm at a loss for what to try next. Just bought the r6700 and can not cast to my xbox one anymore. Im sure its a streaming function in the router but I cannot find it. I tried with QoS enabled and Disabled, but neither worked. Hello All, Since yesterday my netgear nighthawk R6700 stopped working. My internet as such is having no issues as i am able to connect to internet when directly accessed from modem. When connected thru router i am able to login to the router url, but it is showing as internet not connected. I tried resetting the router, but still no luck. Anybody faced this issue and share how you fixed it. Appreciate the help. On a side note I called the support team and they are trying to cheat me. Their version was ' my isp updated to ipv6 and hence the netgear support need to remotely access my device and update the software and configure. i need to pay $200 for this awesome service"(router price was $165 from costco 2yrs back). looks like some scam. they mentioned the customer cannot download the s/w and update the device. :-) the support number i used - 888-638-4327, beware and stay awayyyyySolved9.9KViews0likes1Comment
