3 TopicsiSCSI corruption. Bitlocker locked? Not looking good, ALL my data!
So my LUN Volume has been working great with iSCSI initiators on windows 8.1 and now 10. No problem. Today, after upgrading my Surface Pro 3 to win 10,. I create a new initiator on the admin page for ReadyNAS, connect with the iSCSI initiator. and it connected, but right away had a exclamation mark thing over the drive letter in explorer for each drive. It was lagging bad and would keep giving (not responding) message in explorer. After a few mins I disconnected the initiator from the target and moved back to my main desktop PC. I reconnected on that PC like I normally have been, and now all of the drives are showing that exclamation point icon, and the drive that I was actually trying to access from the surface P3 is showing as bitlocker locked. If I try to open any of the drives in explorer, it says disk corruption or damaged. This is really freaaking me out being that this is literally all of my data and I am new to NAS so I was thinking that being that I had RAID 5 I was safe. It never occuired to me that I would lose 4 HDDs at once. Is there anything I can do or am I totally boned here? Please help and thank you in advance for ANY help.5.5KViews0likes9CommentsRecovering volumes from ReadyNas Ultra 6
Is there any way to recover volumes on a readynas running RAIDiator 4.2.30? I had 6 hard disks, raid1 into 3 volumes and after doing an OS Reinstall, it can't recognise the volumes. The data is still intact as I can browse to the nas via clicking Browse on RAIDar, the original shares are there but I don't have access rights to them. Alternatively, what is the best software to use to read the data from the drives and then I can wipe them and start again?4.3KViews0likes14CommentsHelp - Readynas Ultra 4 Plus - I think the Data is okay, but the Readynas is not functioning
So an HVAC tech came out and flip the circuit breakers without my knowledge. Now my Readynas Ultra 4 Plus is not functioning properly. At first I could see it on PC. i could navigate to it by IP and by Hostname. however when I double clicked on one of the shares, it would error out with "network name no longer available." I did a quick google search and saw something about DLNA, however I don't even have DLNA enabled. So thought I do some troubleshooting. I tried to update the firmware and even though I am positive that I downloaded the correct firmware, the GUI states that the firmware file is not supported with this architecture. Update over the internet doesn't work at all, it just sits there when I click the button. So then I thought, hmm, why don't i try disabling CIFS and re-enabling. Now it won't re-enable at all. Raidar reports everything is healthy. The ReadyNas Admin page also seems like everything is okay, However I just can't access the data. For isntance, the home page shows Volume c: Online, X-Raid2, 4 disks, 99% of 5543gb used. Also the health page shows everything as OK. There is nothing in the logs. So what are my options? What would be the best way to get my data? 1) Can I go and get 4 blank drives.. Restore to factory? Then try to put my old drives back in? 2) Do i have to get something like ReClaime or R-Studio to recover my data? b) If so is there any good step by step guide on how to do it? I wish there was a way to do restore the OS to factory without losing the data. I am sure the Raid Partition is in tact, it's just the OS is malfunctioning. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.3.5KViews0likes6Comments
