Hello, My Nighthawk AC1900 R6900 router seems to have become unregistered from my account. Until now I've been using the Genie app to login remotely but now the device does not appear in my list. The router was purchased at Costco brand new. I initially registered it March 18, 2016 and I still have the confirmation email. When I attempt to register the device again on my account I receive the following message "Serial number has already been registered." I would appreciate your help. Thank you.1.4KViews0likes2CommentsHow I disassociate my email address from my R8000
I sold my Nighthawk and the new owner wants to register his email address to the device so he can take advantage of the USB functionality. Support is being beyond stupid and asking me to file a ticket even though the system doesn't let me do so. Is there a way I can take care of this myself, or do I have to keep hammering fruitlessly at the incompetent Netgear support team?Solved2.9KViews0likes2CommentsTransfer registration from support
I now have a replacement R8500 for the previous box of electronic gremlins. I'd like to transfer the registration of the router from Support to my name. I'm now out of the 90 days email Support and, I'm not going to speak to useless Netgear Support who managed to brick the previous router. Any contact email addresses would be appreciated. By the way, the replacement router is working at the moment, so I haven't 'repaired' it with a large harmmer, but give it time! While setting up my EX6150 as an acces point, the initial configuration seems to be OK and I can connect to the internet (unsecure/NETGEAR_5GEXT). But whenever I try to configure it with following the link www.mywifiext.net and I start to input my E-mail and answer the security questions, the internet connection breaks down and I cannot complete the registration. Other computers (connected to ethernet) still have stable internet access. I already tried multiple different devices (laptops and mobiles) with the same result. My configuration: Router: AVM Fritz!Box 6490 Cable Switch: Netgear ProSAFE GS108Ev3 --> Ethernet conncted computers, TV... Access Point EX6150 should be used to provide WiFi on 2nd Floor Thanks for helping... Jörg2.1KViews0likes1CommentWho remembers date of purchase?
Sorry to post what must be a fairly common complaint, but why in the world do I have to know the purchase date in order to get help on my 5-6 month old WiFi extender that I purchased at Best Buy? And while I'm complaining, let me mention that the serial number is NOT on the back or the bottom of the extender I have. The little picture on the interrogation page is not anything like what's on my device. It's in a little slide-out panel that only my young grandson could locate after I gave up. Yes, eventually I got registered, and I will probably be able to figure out how to configure the device all over again. We had a new ATT "mother box" installed today, so now I'm trying to get the extender to talk to the new box. It asks for a password, and the password for the new box won't work on the extender. I've finally downloaded the help files, after spending 45 minutes registering, so maybe tonight I can sit down and figure it out. Netgear makes great products, and (although I don't remember purchase dates!) I have used Netgear products for years. But this episode has really p'd me off. I shouldn't have to go through all this after already having the device in use for several months. And -- by the way -- I'm pretty darned sure I registered the device right after I bought it, as NG somehow knows my email address....4.6KViews0likes2Comments
