I have one problem device that, for some reason, always chooses the Satellite Orbi instead of the Router Orbi, which is always the furtherest away from the device. The Router Orbi is by far the closer one to the device. I can reboot the network and the device will connect to the Router, but will eventually creep back to the Satellite for whatever reason. It's a stationary device (TV) and never moves. I'd like to request to have a feature implemented that will allow us to "force" or designate a specific device to a specific Orbi. I know they plan on releasing a firmware that will allow us to customize how the lights on top act (always on, etc), which I hope gets released soon! Also, a Guest Network feature would rock!Updated to V1.12.0.18, now Satellite will not sync, "Wireless AP: Off"
I just updated to V1.12.0.18, and now my Satellite will not sync. Everything was working fine on the previous version. I have power cycled both the router and satellite. Following this suggestion: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Satellites-not-putting-out-wifi-signal-after-upgrade-to-v1-12-0/m-p/1321569#M9975 I manually re-updated the firmware on both the satellite and router. It made no difference. When the satellite boots up, I get a solid blue light. The satellite shows in the attached devices list of the router, but not as a connected satellite, just as a connected device. Logging into the Satellite shows it has the appropriate firmware, but it says both 2.4 and 5Ghz radios are disabled. They both say "Wireless AP: Off". Yet it says "Your Orbi satellite connection is up and running." I have tried syncing by pushing the sync button on the router and running downstairs and pushing the sync button on the satellite. I have not noticed any color change, but the router stops blinking pretty quickly, but the satellite just continues to happily blink white. I mean, 25 minutes later, it is still blinking. I then tried the "Add Orbi Satellite" menu item in the router page. After several minutes, it reported that the " Satellite setup failed". I know, I made a rookie mistake -updating firmware when I didn't have any serious problems. Not sure what I can do now - should I try to roll back to a previous version of firmware (unfortunately I trusted the process and didn't write down the previous version)? Should I factory reset both units and try this version again? Any suggestions will be appreciated. If I don't figure this out in a day I'll contact support.3rd Satellite availability in Europe?
Hello Is there any update on when it will be possible to by a third satellite in Europe? Remember seeing that it will be available soon, but it has been saying that for a few months now. FYI, looking to use this 3rd satellite via the star format, so connected to the router, not another satellite. My house is horrible with wifi and need another orbi to reach the other side if my house. ThanksSolvedSatellte LAN ports not working?
I've got my router in the basement and the satellite above it on the main level to cover the 3rd floor. Satellite is connected with devices attached, but when I plug anything into the LAN ports, they don't get an IP. I requested a replacement kit from Amazon and got the new one set up, tested the LAN ports with the satellite 2 feet from the router once I got the router/satellite configured and the firmware updated on both to 1.4.0.18. Worked fine. Moved the satellte up to the middle floor, got it connected, devices attached through wifi...LAN ports not working again. My Arlo base station showed up on the wired list, but the Xbox One S and the blu-ray player won't connect via LAN. Did a bit of looking around and doesn't seem like anyone else has had the issue? I figure it's either software at this point since it's 2 different kits or I've got something configured wrong.ORBI Satellites
I have ORBI Router and 2 Satellites. (6,000 square for home). I am noticing that certain things disconnect. My nest cams for one are going offline a lot. I have just recently disabled beaming after researching this. I hope that fixes it. I also have a WNCE2001 that hooks to my DirecTV box. It works in the day, but when the kids go to bed, it doesn't connect. I changed that today to a static IP. I am hoping that helps (blind luck). During this troubleshooting I noticed the satellites appear to be getting new IP addresses assigned to them a lot. I have noticed at least 4-5 IP changes. 2 Questions... Why are they changing so often? If I make them static, will that cause any issues?
