signal strength
3 TopicsRBS50 weak signal
I was using Netgear's handy little WiFi Analytics Android tool to map out the signal strength in various parts of my house, and I found that the signal strength in my bedroom is only 86%. What makes that odd is that I was sitting next to the satellite. The satellite was connected to the mesh, so the signal strength should have been 100%. Does this mean that my phone was stuck to a connection to one of the other satellites (or the router)? Is there some threshold that triggers the device to be handed off to another unit?lower signal strength after update to V1.3.0.12
After I updated to the V1.3.0.12 firmware, my signal strength has degraded from what I presume is the router. I used to get full bars while on the floor where the router is located (and I'm usually around 15 feet from the the router through a wall - previously that area was full strength). However, downlaod speeds have not been affected. Now I get three and handoff between 2.4 and 5 seems a little more clunky. Any thoughts of causes/solutions? Thanks.C3700-100NAS signal strength
I've noticed a significant decrease in signal strength within my new home to the point where I cannot even connect from the floor upstairs on the other side of my home. Total square footage of my home across 3 floors is only 1,576 sq ft. We had an acceptable signal when we first moved in but it has been slowly getting worse. I've already moved my router as far as I can but it still resides primarily on one side of our second floor within our townhome. This is also where the cable connection is, I'm unable to move it anywhere else. I'm looking for ideas to potentially help boost the signal, neither 2.4 or 5.0 GHz will connect. There was an article about trying to use another router as a repeater (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20604/related/1). Unfortunately when I go into the admin panel of my router (C3700|N600) there is no "wireless repeating function" under the advanced wireless settings.3.7KViews0likes3Comments
