Hello all, I am trying to block a couple of web sites per managment. Followed instructions in manual about using content filtering. Can't seem to get it to work. Do I need to set up a user group? Add all users to this group then apply the filtering to the group? or am I missing something? Network OS is MS Small Business Server 2008. Can't use ISA server to help. Any questions please ask just not sure what info you need. Any help would be appreciated. :confused:14KViews0likes9CommentsTracking websites visited
Managment now wants me to monitor what web sites are being visited by the employees. Namely BLOGGS, Social Networking sites and porn sites just to mention a few. Can this be done with the SRX5308 Router? Does it involve Triggering? Or what is the procedures. Check the manual and couldn't find any reference to tracking website activity. Thanks in advance for your assistance.13KViews0likes2CommentsSRX5308 Settings spontaneously disappear
I set up a brand new SRX5308 yesterday as follows: factory reset (using button) update fimware factory reset (using button) configure Today I swapped it in to replace the existing router and, while I was tweaking a VLAN setting, I got a blank page and got booted off to the login page. When I logged back in, everything but the WAN settings was gone. Custom services, firewall rules, DHCP settings VLAN settings, VPN configuration… What the hell?? Any idea how this happened?11KViews0likes4CommentsSRX5308 Bind Management Interface to VLAN
Hi there I d'like to restrict the access of the SRX5308 web management interface to one VLAN only. This is possible for instance on the GS724. The only thing I was able to do is to limit the login to an ip range (in my case the ip range of a VLAN). But i'm not happy with the solution because the webinterfaces login screen is shown on every VLAN. Thx for any suggestions! I am looking for a detailed procedure, step by step, on how to Open Ports 443 & 80 - I am totally lost here. I tried following the instructions for Firewall Protection / Inbound Rules (Port Forwarding) on Page 140 of the SRX5308 Reference Manual but I'm just not getting it. I just purchased (2) Arlo Netgear 5 Camera Systems but won't be able to view any video without these 2 ports Open Any help would be most appreciated10KViews0likes7CommentsFritz Box 7490 to SRX5308 - VLAN over VPN
Hi, I hope you can help me. I've got a business network with an SRX5308, and home office with an AVM Fritz Box 7490. On the business side, I've got VLAN Default 10.0.0.0/24 VLAN 72 192.68.72.0/24 other VLANS of no interest VPN to another branch office SRX5308 as 192.168.55.0/24 Now ideally, I'm trying to access the default VLAN, VLAN 72 and the VPN to the 55 network from my Box at home. I've managed to get the Fritzbox to connect to the SRX (only took about a day playing with their stupid settings) but can't for example access the 72 VLAN. The setting used on the Fritzbox (from their manual) is set as accesslist = "permit ip any 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0", "permit ip any 192.168.72.0 255.255.255.0"; Now, on the SRX I can only specify one local network in the VPN policy - how to I tell the SRX to allow access to the VLANs or VPNs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ThanksSolved8.7KViews0likes12CommentsSRX5308 Hosting multiple websites in the DMZ not working! HELP!
I have a group of 5 static IP's that I use to host websites. I have the SRX5308 set to use 1 WAN port with one of the IP's and added the rest of the IP's as "Secondary IP's". Next I have multiple IP's bound to my network adaptor in Win Server 2008 and those IP's are bound to seperate websites. (This is no different then having 4 seperate web servers, and probably irrelevant to this question) Then I have "DMZ WAN rules" set to forward HTTP request to the cooresponding Server IP. This all worked fine on the FVX538 v2, but it's not working at all on the SRX5308! What is the right way to setup up multiple IP Addresses/Web Servers in the DMZ on the SRX5308? (This is a huge problem right now, my FVX538 died and this is the replacment!) Thanks for any help..8.5KViews0likes5CommentsMultiple Routers / Single Lan Question
We are moving an app server to a new IP address (switching internet providers and we have both active for 1 week). This poses a problem as the app server is in use 24/7 and we cannot be down to switch the URL of the app server from one external ip address to another. We have 2 SRX5803 routers: Original one connected to original external ip address, nat enabled and port forwarding the traffic to the server at 192.168.1.10. We want to connect 2nd router to new external ip address, and then connect the lans and port forward traffic to the above server at 192.168.1.10. After we are sure both ip's are responding, we can switch the dns to the new ip address and slowly watch traffic move to the new ip address with no downtime. We tried setting the lan of the 2nd router to 192.168.1.128 and from a pc on the router I can ping router a and router b but not the app server at 192.168.1.10. Nor can any traffic inbound on the new router get to the app erver. We muddled with vlans's and set the new router to 192.168.2.1 and added a vlan on 1st router with forwarding enabled hooked up a cable and again i can ping both routers but not the pc directly? What is the best method to accomplish this? Thanks. Tony8.4KViews0likes5CommentsSRX5308 - VPN Problems
Serious issue here. currently after swapping an UTM25 at one site for the SRX5308 in it's place, a problem still persist with only getting 1/2 of the WAN bandwidth. secondly after transferring large packets of data across a vpn to the device, it shuts down externally, but works fine internally. even though all vpn tunnels are still established, there is no connectivity between the vpn(s) to this device nor can i access it via the web interface with the wan ip. i mean it completely shuts down external connectivity. i have already factory defaults this router initially when it had this problem with firmware 3.0.7-29, and now again with firmware 3.0.7-45; and just for kicks, i rebooted the router and tried sending 5GB across to it, and it shutdown 1/2 through this time...8KViews0likes2Comments
