3 Topicsstatic IP address does not save, says "argument missing"
Hi, Every time I enter the static ip info I got from my ISP, I click apply and it doesn't save it. At the top of the screen it says "argument missing". I do not see any blank area that I could add more info...it just fauils to save my entries. I have the latest firmware installed. This is kind of urgent, any help appreciated. Hello friends, I have returned to my favorite forum for some good advice about static IPs on my network. I've done some studying and some tests and I understand how to set static IP on my NASs (plural) and machines. I'm just trying to be real careful so I want to post here and ask questions. I will try to make them intelligent as possible. To begin: I know that I should set my static IPs to be outside the range of the DHCP in my router. I actually tried that with my old NAS as an experiment. I set it to be outside that range, like 192.168.1.60. The NAS adopted it and the status panel confirmed this. Here's what happened: my router won't let me set that static IP because the old IP is still in the DHCP list. Do I need to turn off/on the router to clear out that list? Is that the next step? This sounds like a dumb question to me but I'm trying to be *real* careful. As always, any and all advice is very welcome. best Ken6.2KViews0likes14CommentsNAS Rn104, ready cloud user problem, static IP problem, no NAS device found
NAS 104, FW 6.4.1 First problem: readycloud and other updates doesn't work if I set static IP on NAS? Why? Second: What should I do, if I'm not able to see NAS device in win explorer network? I tried refresh, network is private, and I can ping my device. I can access to device thru web browser? Any idea how to solve this. Otherwise I don't know how to map network drive for home shares? Because until firs check-in home directory(dir) for invited user is not created. Third: I have old cloud user. Today I invited him true readycloud to my public dir. No errors during the process, but I cannot access this folder thru win explorer. I tried to enter un and pw (some un and pw I used to enter readycloud) but it doesn't work (yes un & pw I wrote are correct). When I sign in in readycloud it can't find my device, then I press button to discover it and it find it, but then I get this image, to manage site, which brings me to admin page. At admin page I can see that this old user is member of Public dir. So why my user can't see my NAS device, and why I can't enter to public dir using win explorer? Thank you for your help.3.2KViews0likes2Comments
