2.4 GHz Device only connect to router and not Satellite

My setup is such that I have an RBR50 and two RBS50 Satellites.  I have been having issues with light bulbs disconnecting from the 2.4 GHz signal.  Tonight is the first time I noticed that all of these "smart devices" that only work on 2.4 GHz seems to be connecting to the router and not either of the two satellites, even though they may be closer to, and better signal from, one of the two satellites.  Does anyone know why this is?  The weaker signal may be my issue with them disconnecting a lot.

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Also try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings.

Thanks.  I tried turning the power down to 50% on the router and that seems to have worked.

(This is only an "information item")  Turning down the Transmit Power affects all Orbi access points, not just the router.
