I agree this is annoying. Do they recognize the throttling of speed as an issue - or are you referencing to the connectivity to OS devices?
Both connectivity of the MAC OS starting with Yosemite and slow speed. I am getting very slow speeds on my internet from Orbi unless I am right next to the router!

Mac OS X Yosemite users have had lots of wifi connectivity issues with non-Apple routers. Upgrade to OS X Sierra (current version is 10.12.5).
