Can’t get iPhone to connect

So if I’m approximately 50 ft from the satellite all good. @ approximately 75 -90 ft the iPhone won’t connect. It see the Orbi networks (strong signal) and just hangs or ask me for password, which it tells me it’s incorrect. Funny thing it worked yesterday? I tried unplugging the Orbi and satellites and resetting my iPhone. TIA.

  • Did forgetting the network on the iphone do anything?

Set up a IP address reservation for the iPhone on the router.

Set manual channels on the router, 1, 6 and 11 for 2.4Ghz and any unused on 5Ghz.

  • Is MIMO, Daisy Chain and Fast Roaming disabled as well on the router?

      Daisy Chain is Disabled.

      the following is enabled:

Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices
      Enable MU-MIMO
      Enable Fast Roaming

Honestly it seems like my Iphone X will not connect to the satellite. I think when I'm ~50ft from my house it connects to main router, then when i move further away it drops from main router and doesent pick up the nearby satellite?

  • You can enable Beamforming and test. The iphone X maybe MIMO supporting so you can try and enable MIMO and test as well.

Can you turn off the wifi on the iphone while near the satellite, then turn it back on and see if your connnected to the satellite. You can log into the satellites web page to see if the iphone is connected there. Reivew the connected clients lists.

Thanks. From ~40 ft it connects to satellite. 70-80 ft away it drops. Not sure if being outside has anything to do with it. i guess I'll try place the satellite on my deck to see if that improves conectivity.

  • Thats probably too far for a stable connection. Is your remote location a different building?

No satellite in kitchen. I’m trying to connect from my back yard
  • You may need a out door satellite to help with range there. I've only seen single up to around 30-maybe 40 feet out side from inside single sources.
