Cannot get Orbi RBK14 router to recognize ARRIS modem SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1

Orbi router worked well with an Arris DOCSIS 3.0 modem, but when I changed to a new Arris DOCSIS 3.1 modem, model SB8200, I cannot get the Orbi router to connect to the modem and internet.  I have tried all the recommended setup efforts, including resetting the router.  The satellites all sync well with the router; just can't get the router to connect with the modem/internet.

    Did you POWER OFF the ISP modem and RBR for 30 seconds, then power ON the modem and let it sync, then power ON the RBR and walk thru the setup wizard with a wired PC?

      Yes on the powerup procedures, but I did the setup wizard via my cell phone app.

        Can you use a wired or wireless PC or laptop and connect to the RBRs web page there to walk thru the setup wizard? 

         

        Did the phone app give any indication that the RBR was not connected to the modem?
