Crooked Orbi Router. Only solid green power light and can't perform a reset
I have this RBR50K router and i came back home and its not working. I have solid green light at the back however i have been reading multiple tread and almost tried them all.
I did 30 30 30 method, no luck
connected to netgear support, they cant do anything since its not under waranty anymore
I have been trying TFTP method recomended by NG but its not uploading.
I will be very happy if some one would help me in getting this fixed. I dont want to throw my $400 in bin. I purchased a brand new from a guy, i myself opened the box, and it worked fine for a week however after that it just died .
Any help will be appriciated
Thanks

The steps for tftp are very precise and need to be followed exactly. to the point of upper/lower case. As well as you need to make sure you enable tftp from within windows. did you do this?
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and did you extract the firmware when you downloaded it?

- hammadbadozaiAspirantYes to both questions..
i did enable tftp from windows settings and tried cmd method as well for putting the firmware.. didint work. I used the tftp program recommended by NG specialist.. no luck.
While pressing reset button, the solid state green light doesn’t change. And i did put them image file in desktop after extraction- plemansGuru - Experienced User
It shouldn't need a different program. The built in one works fine.
Are you able to ping the router?
When you're pressing the reset button, how long are you holding it?
have you tried a 30/30/30?
Thats holding reset while its powered up for 30 seconds, then power it down for 30 seconds while still holding reset, then powering backup all while holding reset for 30 seconds. Basically you're holding reset in for a total of 90 seconds?

Just chiming in. I have this exact same problem. My Orbi is out of warranty. It just stopped working. I am guessing it was some sort of failed automatic firmware update. I tried resetting with a paper clip. I also tried the 30/30/30 method. None have worked. I tried the solution described here https://kb.netgear.com/000059633/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-client and here https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Bricked-Orbit-Failed-Firmware-Update/m-p/1559274#M29348 and here https://visihow.com/Perform_a_firmware_recovery_on_a_router. The power light just stays a constant green. I cannot ping the router.

Then your RBR is bad and needs to be replaced. Sorry.

This is the only other utility I know of to try.

Thanks for your reply. I gave it a shot but no luck. It just timed out. Thanks anyway.
