Disable bridge mode

I'm trying to set up my new Orbi system.  I have a Ubee gateway modem/router.  When setting up, it keeps saying my ethernet cable isn't connected & it is.  I called Netgear & 28 hours later the only response I've gotten is for a survey.  Online searching shows I may be in bridge mode & need to disable the router from the gateway.   I've called my internet provider & they say "just plug in & everything works".  Wrong.  I've logged into my modem's IP address, but when I disabled the bridge mode, I lost internet.  Got that back, but now I am still stuck.  

Any help & suggestions?  I've spent hours on this--I'm obviously not a tech person.

    There could be several issues here.  First, is the only Orbi component the RBS40V?

    If this is the case, then

    If this is not the case, then the Orbi router's WAN (yellow) port must be connected to the UBEE modem with an ethernet cable.

    It would be helpful to know the model of Orbi router and UBEE modem.

  • You would need to talk to your ISP and have them help you enusre the modem is bridge fully an no other ISP configurations are needed at the modem or on the RBR router if they require that.

    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
