Does ethernet backhaul on FiOS work yet?

I set up wired back haul yesterday on my buddies RBK50 with one satellite. Working:
Out of curiosity, is the wired backhaul satellite 8n wireless range of the router or other satellites? I have been able to make wired backhaul Work but it is inconsistent. At time there is heavy traffic on it (dishnetwork HD downloads), although I am not sure if that is relevant. What 8 would like to better 7nderstand is how Netgear is implementing STP and whether this could be causing the satellite to randomly drop the wired interface in preference to a weak wireless one.
I believe it's in the range of the main router however signal is poor. His house is really thick and where his modem and router is, down the basement behind the garage while the satellite upstairs is opposite end. So that and building materials are effecting his system. I set up the satellite initially while at the router and getting all this configured in his office. Once I had the satellite set up wireless, then I connected wired back haul and let it configure. Once BLUE, I rebooted to confirm wired back haul persisted thru the reboot back to ready. It did, then I powered OFF the satellite then placed it in his final location upstairs on his wired LAN cable there thats connected to the back the router. I new wired back haul would work for his needs. No switches in between. SO far it's been running since then. Asked him to let me know if anything happens.
They have 3 xbox consoles, two are gamers, one is video streaming I believe. All other items are laptop, phones and pads.
I have one Dish joey connected via wireless bridge to next room satellite which is wired back haul connected thru two non manged switches. No issues on my system.
Ya, there been some questions about STP and switches. Nothing from NG though. So far, keeping Daisy Chain disabled and using non managed switches is my best suggestion for running wired back haul. One user meantioned that disabling IGMP protocol on his managed swtich got his system working, so there is that.
