Firmware Version 1.10.1.2
Does anybody know what they fixed? All it has in the release notes is "fixed some bugs" That is not a release note. That is a joke.
Hello Everyone
We have release firmware version 1.12.0.18 this firmware has fixes for disconnects and many more I posted the release notes below.

If you are still having issues after updating your Orbi unit you may want to factory reset the Orbi and test again. If you are still having disconnect issues or other issues with this firmware please create a new thread or contact our support team.

- Retired_Memberst_shaw, thanks for posting the image. Something seems wonky with your software though. If you look at the MAC address, they don't correlate with the type of signal going out and your annotations. The two that start with A6 are your satellite. I don't know why it says it's putting out two 2.4 GHz signals but that's not right.
Did the other Wi-Fi scanners you tried and show the same thing?- st_shawMaster

Did the other Wi-Fi scanners you tried and show the same thing?I double checked by powering off the satellite. The router is broadcasting using one MAC address starting with A0 and one starting with A6. So it looks like the labels are correct. The A6s are the 2.4G band. The A0s are the 5G band.
I've used WiFi Explorer, Netspot, WiFi Scanner, and AirRadar. All behave the same. None will show the backhaul regularly. It will usually show briefly if I power-cycle the WiFi. It's as if Orbi broadcasts the hidden networks only when a new device is connecting to the network, then goes dark.

Well, I tired Acrylic WiFi on a Windows 10 machine. It shows the hidden Orbi backhaul channels only for a few seconds, about once every minute. No connectivity loss across the backhaul when it's not showing. Different computer this time, but still Apple hardware.
- For the past 6 hours no problem with galaxy s7 windows laptop and ipad going most of the day
- Retired_MemberWhich beta did they send you LeBullet? I'm glad it seems good so far.

Hi,
originally, 1.11.02, but now i'm on, 1.11.0.8Bullet
- gregslTutorHi Bullett, Apparently I'm out of email support now and Firmware 1.10.1.2 is driving me nuts - even my wife is noticing the WiFi hangs/drops and complaining. Is there a Beta download page where an NDA can be signed to get off this version? I can't even downgrade any longer (did they stop that from working)?
- Still having dropouts with apple devices now
- LeBulletApprentice
So, overnight, we're still getting some Nest connection drops, but my ipad battery drain seems better, I've not used it much to really tell, but it definitely seems like progress.
My Sky Q issues (in terms of terrible and dropped Wifi connections across the system and across the internet) are resovled and it's now performing as it has done this last year.
Overall, it's definitely looking like a good step forwards

For those on the beta firmware, is MU-MIMO and beamforming disabled by default?
- Should enable tho... alsomy daughter is a
Heaby mac user and dropouts are overwhelming - No i will try that today.. her ipad how ever is slow also
- LeBulletApprenticeHow can you be out if support, you can't have your Orbi long enough, surely?
I definitely think this version is much better, the WiFi disconnects are at least massively reduced, and the WiFi is more stable, certainly. I found 1.10.1.2 to very poor really, but this has so far been greatly better.
I'm still having Nest disconnect 2 times a day, but the IPad battery drain is much better too, and most importantly, my Sonos, Philips Hue and SkyQ, (which had developed terrible wifi download instability and speed on 1.10.1.2) are all working as your hope.
I've not used and wifi scan tools, but it all performs as good hope.
I'm afraid the download links they give you are only available for a few days, and mine will have expired. Under the terms of the NDA, I cannot share the files, you must get them from Nether support directly, they're very tightly controlled rules, I'm sorry.
I'm certain if you requested them, and raised a support case, they'd help you out, they've been great with me.
Bullet - BugbytecsInitiateI just bought the Orbi RBR40 yesterday, and having same instability issues. Can't even connect my android phone. Can I please have beta firmware that seems to resolve issue?
- Latest beta 1.11.8 habing trouble connecting my android also.. all otjer devices work..
