Help with intermittant connection drops on Orbi RBR50v2 and Verizon FIOS
I've been having a lot of issues with my internet lately. I Just moved into a new city and a new home and got Verizon FIOS. The main problem is that the connection will randomly drop out for 1-9 minutes anywhere between 1-6 times a day. I'm using an Orbi RBR50v2 with 1 satellite. I'm currently connected through two PCs wirelessly. It's connected to a Verizon ONT outside the house in a weatherproof box. I've been running an uptime log through an extension on Google Chrome to keep track of how bad things are.
I've been trying to pinpoint the issue, but everything I tried isn't helping. Here's a list of what I've attempted:
- Update Orbi Firmware.
- Fine-tune beamforming and similar settings.
- Check for double NAT issues: tried Orbi in AP Mode and Router mode.
- Factory Reset Orbi.
- Repeat previous three steps.
- Call Verizon: they said the issue with with my Orbi or the ethernet cable.
- Replace cable, issue persisted.
- Sink head and cry in frustration.
- Call Verizon again: they said the issue is with my Orbi or between their ONT and their hub.
- Verizon tech comes, replaces ONT, tells me to consider cancelling my service or rent one of their garbage routers.
At this point, the service worked for a full 24 hours with no interruptions. I figured this must have fixed the problem. Oh how wrong I was, as the issue came roaring back in full force today. I'm at the end of my rope, and I legitimately have no idea what the issue might be.
During the aforementioned 24 hours, there were no problems and the Orbi ran as good as when I bought it in June of 2020. I have NEVER had an issue with the Orbi at all, and this is the first thing I'm running into. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I really don't want to have to buy a new router, especially after spending so much money so recently on the Orbi.
I can provide more specs and information if needed.
Thank you for any help or insights.

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What CAT# LAN cable is being used in between the RBR and ONT? CAT6 is recommended.
Test a wired PC connected to the ONT for a period of time with the RBR off line to see if anything different happens.
Has a power OFF with the ONT and RBR for 1 minute or longer been performed?

Good day,
Yes, a power off for over 1 minute has been performed multiple times on each device. The information for the (recently replaced) ONT is as listed in the image below.
I have also tested the direct connection to the ONT without the Orbi, and have had uninterrupted connections for approx 48 hours. When wired through the Orbi or connected wirelessly, I've continued having approximately 8 per day.
Any ideas what might be the issue?
Thanks.

Hello voyagersilver,
I understand that you are having issues with internet stability connecting the RBR50v2 to Verizon FIOS.
Please try turning off the Verizon FIOS wireless network.
Steps to turn off Verizon FIOS wireless network:
To turn off your Verizon Fios wireless network:
- Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device that is connected to your Verizon Fios router.
- Enter 192.168.1.1.
- A login window displays.
- Enter your user name and password.
The Main page displays.
Note: If you haven't logged in to your Fios router before, you are prompted to create a new user name and password. - On the Main page, click Wireless Settings > Basic Security Settings.
- Under Turn Wireless ON, select Off.
- At the bottom of the page, click Apply.

Kevin,
I have tried that stuff, but I do not have a Verizon Fios router. I only have the RBR50v2 connected directly to the ethernet coming from the ONT. Running in AP mode, as far as I know, would not resolve the issue. Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks.
