HOW CAN I TEST SPEED OF WIFI INTRANET USING RBR50K

I am having a wifi speed issue where I want to test the speed of my WIFI on my Inrtanet.  Speedtest and all the other speedtest apps I have tried show the speed test of the internet.

Can anybody give me instrustions on how to do "my" test of my intranet.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Test the speed between the RBR and ISP modem/ONT by using the RBRs built in speed test on the RBRs web page.

Test the speed between your ethernet connected PC or laptop thru the RBR and ISP Modem/ONT by installing Ooklas installable speed test app on the PC/Laptop and test there.

There really is no such thing as wifi speed on your network.

Every wifi client will have its own technology and that has its own speed.

So, if you test the speed from each client that will be the measure for that client - router connection.

Each device will have its own measurement.

What is your wifi speed issue?

This depends on on your technical sophistication.

    • As you are no doubt aware, most WiFi devices describe the "Link Rate" of their WiFi connection.  This Wikipedia article describes the maximum theoretical Link Rate for various 802.11 WiFi standards:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi

The maximum theoretical Link Rates are never achieved in actual practice.

    • The tool I use personally is iperf3, which is available for nearly every possible platform:
      https://iperf.fr/iperf-download.php
Basically, iperf3 is installed on two devices on the network. When run, it opens a connection between the two devices and transmits the maximum possible amount of data in a short time.
On a gigabit Ethernet connection between two computers that are both connected to the Orbi router Ethernet ports, I regularly measure over 900Mb/sec speed with iperf3. (A full gigabit is technically impossible because there is some 'overhead' even in Ethernet which consumes some of the bandwidth.
On a link between two devices connected over WiFi, measured performance is substantially less.

As michaelkenward pointed out, it might be helpful to know more detail about the perceived problem.  What is not workiing right?
