Kann der RBR50 V2 direkt an einem Glasfasermodem betrieben werden ?

Hallo,bei mir wurde Anfang der Woche ein Glasfaseranschluss von Eon Highspeed aufgeschaltet.Jetzt versuche ich schon einige Zeit erfolglos den RBR50 an ein Glasfasermodem von Eon anzubinden.(Laut Beschreibung liefert das Glasfasermodem bereits Ethernet). Ist die Anbindung in dieser Form überhaupt möglich ? Sprich: Kann der Orbi direkt an einem Glasfasermodem betrieben werden ? (rein technisch) Oder muss ich noch eine z.B Fritzbox dazwischenhängen ? Den Orbi habe ich auf Router Betrieb umgestellt .Aber der Rest der Einrichtung ist mir nicht wirklich klar.Für Hinweise wäre ich dankbar.&nbsp;

You'll need to ask your ISP if you can connect a external router to there ONT. There maybe some specific configurations needed that they should know about.&nbsp;

Regarding modems and ONTs with built in routers.

Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.3. I have been trying to connect the RBR50 to a fiber optic modem from Eon for some time now, without success. (According to the description, the fiber optic modem already provides Ethernet). Is the connection even possible in this form? In other words: Can the Orbi be operated directly on a fiber optic modem? (purely technical) Or do I have to hang in between a Fritzbox, for example? I switched the Orbi to router operation, but the rest of the setup is not really clear to me. I would be grateful for any hints.

If you have put a LOT of effort into customizing the Orbi configuration, my guess is that the place to start is on the Orbi web interface "Internet" menu item (http://orbilogin.net)

If the Orbi is relatively ordinary, then there is little to lose by performing a Factory Reset on the Orbi and starting over.

As FURRYe38 pointed out, there must be at least one router in the network.&nbsp; Thousands of customers connect their router to the ISP router and are blissfully unaware. There are specific situations where having two routers causes problems.&nbsp; Do an internet search for "Double NAT".&nbsp; If it turns out that you are one of the few who are affected, then there are ways to eliminate the Double NAT.

If the information on e.on's website is correct (details might differ regionally or depending on the age of the fibre deployment), you need to use a tagged VLAN (VID 132) on WAN in combination with DHCP. The VLAN tagging can be configured in the advanced configuration (towards the bottom in the left menu pane), it's not as straight forward as it could be - but the RBR50v2 has everything needed to work as router in this setup.
