Manual firmware update

My system was connected but not in use for some time, and apparently made a firmware auto-update with the 2.7.3.22 firmware that was wrong for the satellite. I lost the satellite connection. I downloaded the correct RBS50 firmware, but I don't know how to connect the satellite to the router. It doesn't synchronize, even after 2 days of resets and attempts. So It doesn't appear on the Orbi network page and on the manual update page. I tried connecting the router and the satellite with cable, no results and no synchronization. Is there any way to connect the satellite so I can make the firmware update?

  • You need to update the RBS before updating the RBR. Keep this in mind for future updates.

What you need to do is factory reset the RBS. Wire connect a PC to the 1st satellite📡. Already have the most current FW version files downloaded on to this PC.

Wire connect 1 PC to the back of the RBS. Factory reset the RBS, wait about 5 minutes. The PC will get a IP address from the satellite📡. The RBS will be 192.168.1.250. Use this IP address in a web browser to log in to the satellites web page. Log in as admin and password. Use the satellites 📡 web page FW update feature to select the FW update file that was unpacked from the .zip file. Then factory reset and then re-sync the satellites 📡 to the RBR.

When I use the IP address in a web browser, the result is :

      THE CONNECTION HAS BEEN INTERRUPTED

A CHANGE IN THE NETWORK HAS BEEN DETECTED

      ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED

      I'm using Windows 11.

It happens with Edge and also with Chrome.

      Any suggestions?

I am not confident that an individual satellite will respond to DHCP with an IP address.

Any time I interact with WiFi access points that are not part of a functioning system, I set the PC to a static IP address in the 192.168.1.x range.
