No Orbi VLAN Capability
The VLAN settings in the router seem to be limited to ISP needs as opposed to network management, When will Netgear have proper VLAN capability including inter-VLAN routing at the router to allow full network segmentation? At present the only option to fulfil this is to add on a L3 or maybe a L2+ switch.

Possible the NG only provides for VLAN ISP support only and relies upon external swtich HW for LAN side VLAN configurations. These are home class devices and doing VLANs is more of a business class configuration. Not alot of VLAN configurations needed by the average home user.

Thx for your feedback.
I had a look at the Orbi Pro but it didn't offer any better options, in fact worse in many ways (imo) due to the limitations placed on the 3 SSID. I want a simple solution to segmenting the typical potentially insecure items (AV devices and IoT devices) from mainstream PC and NAS which I guess a lot of home users would be considering. Without any additional VLAN capability within the Orbi router the only option is additional cost for external switch elements. Any other suggestions gratefully accepted.
I presume you would be best suited for a external managed switch. However one draw back is that Orbi doesnt' like managed switches. Or the IGMP protocols on them:

If it works wit the orbi after this, then you should be good in this configuration. The external switch would be best suited for your needs.
