Orbi RBK50 streaming issue with Dish Network - Dishanywhere

I just set up a new Orbi RBK50 to replace my old TP link router.  The Dishanywhere streaming worked on that router.  After I switched over to the Orbi, I can no longer stream from Dishanywhere.  I am thinking it might have to do with Upnp.  I have one Dish reciever that appears in the Upnp list but should have two and there is no way to add manually.  I also looked at port forwarding and I can only have one device for a certain port.

I have the Orbi satilite hardwaire with backhaull disabled.

Any help would be great

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Last time I checked my DishAnywhere on my pad, it worked fine with my RBK50. Been a while since I don't use it much. Mostly use the Hopper. Streaming Netflix is working. Though it's wired to the Orbi.

  • I have my Orbi Router connected to my Dish Hopper 3 via network cable (middle network port on the Orbi to the bottom network port on the Hopper) .  I just tried DishAnywhere on my local network here at home on my phone - worked great.

My Orbi system is in Access Point mode - not sure what your configuration is.

Last time I checked it was in router mode.

Possible that your main host router is blocking something if your trying to access from a remote location. If it works when your on the LAN side then Orbi is only passing thru traffice to the host router. I would look at the host router for possible causes....

Just checking with my phone from here at work to see if the app would launch and log in. It does.
