Orbi RBR40 Disconnect

Question

I have one RBR40 and three additional satellites. This has been running flawlessly for a few years. Recently we have been having issues in that the ORBI disconnects from the modem. Now, it has disconnected and, after following all of the directions I have found online, we cannot reboot it, reconnect it, and recently no longer can reset my password. Do these routers just go bad over time? If so, that is disappointing.

Well, that's a difficult question.&nbsp; All of the original Orbi products from 2016-2017 are compatible in the sense that all of the satellites will work with all of the routers.&nbsp; In addition to the offerings on eBay, Amazon is selling the RBR50/RBS50 package (refurbished) for $145. The sad story is that Netgear's Orbi products are not compatible across product lines. i.e. the 'original' satellites will not sync to the newer AX product line. (nor the reverse).

The original post did not identify the specific model numbers of the Orbi satellites. (Or, I missed it.)&nbsp; All of the original satellites are compatible with the RBR50 router.

Routers can go bad. Doesn't mean yours has though.&nbsp;
Whats the router actually doing? (led's, ping, etc)

Most of the time the LED is either flashing white, or no light at all. When trying to access via the ORBI app I constantly receive the message “trying to reconnect” or “We can’t find your ORBI”

what happens if you hardwire a pc/laptop into the orbi?&nbsp;
Are you able to access it?&nbsp;
What modem/gateway are you connecting it to?&nbsp;

Nothing happens when I plug a laptop directly into the ORBI.The ORBI is plugged into a Frontier router (Arris model# NVG468MQ)
