Orbi RBR40 not recognizing RBS20 satellites

I have an Orbi router (RBR40) and three Orbi satellites (RBS20). All are at the current firmware (V2.7.4.24). My iOS app (iPhone and iPad) no longer recognizes the satellites.

I log on to orbilogon.com and I can see the three satellites listed. On the list of attached devices, some are connected to satellites, others are connected to the router.

Is this a bug in Netgear/Orbi's iOS app, or something deeper in the router settings? The Advanced tab on the web interface isn't giving me much to go on.

Rebooting the router wasn't a resolution to the issue.

Any guidance / suggestions would be appreciated. Screenshots can be provided if necessary.

  • This was resolved with support from my email to netgearteam@netgear.com. I ended up resetting my RBR40 router and to factory settings, and then re-applied my SSID name and password. All devices reconnected easily.

  • If they're showing up in in the browser, I wouldn't worry to much about it.

I've not been that big of the app or impressed with it. Every time it seems like they fix something, something else breaks.

  • I have spent hours troubleshooting this issue. It turns out that the current firmware is defective.  It will install just fine to the sattelites, but when it installs on to the Router, it will brick the router.  After spending over 7 hours on this issue, I found that the only way to fix the system is to downgrade the system to the previous version- 2.7.3.22. But it's hard and has to be done manually.

I really hope Netgear releases a working firmware version.
