Orbi RBR50 looses Internet several times a day

I have an Orbi RBR50 with 2 RBS50 satellites connected to a NG CM1000.  I have Xfinity gigabit service.  I have a NG GS308P installed after the router  I installed it in September of 2019 (of coarse fresh out of warranty and tech support - thats a whole other complaint) all was fine until about a week ago and it continually drops internet and wifi.  I can unplug and plug back in and it will start working again for a few hours.  The problem is my wife now is working from home and both of my kids have been setup to do school online.  I work from home 2-3 times a week.

House is 4800sqft 3 stories.

satellites are aprox 45 feet away from RBR50

firmware V2.5.1.8

Modem NETGEAR CM1000

Switch NETGEARGS308P

Any ideas??

  • Has the modem and RBR been powered OFF for 1 minute then back ON?

Is wired and wireless devices effected when this happens?

Are the RBS wireless or wired to the RBR?

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Might try this when you get free time with the system...

Keep us posted. If nothing else, please try a factory reset and setup from scratch.
