Orbi RBR50V2 permanent flashing white light

I have done what I thought was a factory reset on the RBR50V2 unit. I wanted o connect the units ( incl two satellites) to a new network as AP's.

The main modem unit has not been able to go beyond the flashing white light stage. I have left it for 15 minutes to no avail. Power cycling does not make a difference. It does not respond to a hard reset again either, just sits there in an updating loop.

The support articles imply that it needs a manual firmware update. Happy to do this but that requires logging in via the wi-fi. As the unit is permanently trying to upgrade the firmware the wi-fi is never enabled.

I have tried logging in via an ethernet cable - no joy. The app is not any help as without wifi it cannot access it.

A bit stuck - looks like the unit has destroyed itself.

Any clues, advice gratefully received.

So accessing the RBRs web page at 192.168.1.1 with a ethernet connected PC is not working?

If you press the reset button for 15 seconds then release, then give it about two minutes, with the RBR disconnected from the ISP modem, can you get the setup wizard web page to appear in any web browser at all?

      Hi and thanks for replying.

I have been through this loop a few times. I tried it again just in case. The Orbi wifi doesn't appear so unable to connect to it. A cabled connection doesn't get the login screen at all via 192.168.1.1.

Is there a more definitive factory reset on the PCB at all? One that doesn't reply on some software polling the switch etc?

      Other ideas and suggestions appreciated.

Try a 30-30-30 reset on the RBR.

If this fails to bring up the beginning setup wizard web ui at 192.168.1.1, then possible the RBR maybe faulty and needs replacing.
