Orbi Router RBR50 throttled download Speed
Hey all, hope you can help because I,ve been trying to trouble shoot this for days..
I have an Orbi RBR50 router / Firmware v2.7.2.104
Connected are two PCs running windows 10 home, a laptop and a desktop.
Both PCs score download speeds around 150Mbps on wireless and over 200Mbps when wired.
Now heres the problem, my laptop downloads files without any issue, I can download 1Gig in 5 - 10 seconds.
The desktop, which is in the exact same spot as the laptop, downloads between 2.5Mbps - 10Mbps for the same exact files.
I just moved into a new house and in my previous home I had Verizon Fios and my desktop NEVER had this problem.
All drivers (specifically anything network related) are up-to-date.
No viruses or malware.
Turned the firewall off and the problem continues.
Oddly enough, I can stream media (Hulu, netflix) just fine. Its literally only an issue when I try to download something.
I have reset the Orbi to factory settings and rebooted both the orbi and the modem dozens of times.I have gone through every youtube video and workaround site I could find.
Is there some setting I am missing?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Are both desktop and laptop connected to the Orbi the same eay for the test?
i.e, both wired or both WiFi?
Please explain "Download". (I assume it means using a web browser to get files from an internet source).
The old internet service was FIOS and the new internet service is ???
Both have similar speeds?

Yes all tests were done identically. Please explain "Download". (I assume it means using a web browser to get files from an internet source).

Downloading any files, content or updates. It doesnt matter what I try to download. When I downloaded updates for my drivers, it was at 3Mbps. when I downloaded test files through google chrome, it was at 3Mbps. When I tried to download an update for a game through steam, it was at 2Mbps. It doesn't matter the source. My laptop can download from all those same sources in seconds.
Unfortunately I'm not sure, I dont pay for the service here. I do know that it's around 1Gig speed.
My FIOS was 1Gig as well.- MeBeAngelAspirant
