Orbi with At&t Fiber 1000

Hey everyone,

I've been experiencing my internet going out mutliple times a day. My setup is Arris BGW210 Gateway with Orbi AX6000 set as a router. I have ip passthrough with all firewall setting turned off on my gateway.  My internet works great for about four or five hours at a time, but will evertually go out. My broadband light will turn red on the gateway as well as the red alarm light on the ONT box that the fiber cable runs into. My question is could my Orbi be causing this? Im leaning more towards something is up with the Fiber cable losing signal.

I also need to mention that my Orbi automatically set its ip address as 10.0.0.1. I have read that is is not a problem.

Thanks

If your ONT and ARRIS router are showing RED indications, I would contact the ISP and have them check the lines and there logs for any information.

Orbi should not be cuasing problems.

Yes if Orbi is setting a 10 IP address, this means it's detected the ARRIS is using 192.168.1.1 which is also used by NG, so Orbi changes to something different.

What FW is currently loaded on the Orbi system?

I'm not real sure. I was told i needed to turn firewall off on gateway for the ip passthrough to work properly. Was told that the firewall on the orbi is automaticly on when installed. Does this sound right?
