Problems after adding Netgear Orbi RBS50Y to network
Hello,
One month ago we bought the RBK53 set from orbi. We put the router on the base level and on each other level another satellite. Everything was working very good. All devices connected to the correct satellite all the time and we had good wifi connection throughout the whole house except for the backyard. For that reason we ordered a Netgear Orbi RBS50Y for our backyard.
After installing the RBS50Y we encouter a lot of problems with our network. Devices connected through ethernet are working as per usual, but wifi connected devices are encoutering a lot of problems. For example all our phones have internet for about 5-10 minutes, and disconnect for 1-2 minutes until the internet comes back. Looking in the Orbi app, we see that all the wifi devices are connecting to the main router and not to the sattelites anymore.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? We are currently running v2.5.1.16 as firmware

Is Daisy Chain enabled on the RBR? Try disabling it.
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?- MstrbigMaster
If you shut doew the RBS50Y, does the problem go away or do you still experience the issue? Try going to orbilogon.com and reboot.

I reinstalled everything and it worked great again until 2 hours ago. Everything is connected through 2.4Ghz and is not able to connect to the 5Ghz band.
I checked the recommended settings above but nothing helps.

I've installed several Orbi systems and never experienced the 2.4 backhaul. I'm not saying it can't happen, but if moving closer to a satellite or router does not help, I suggest contacting Netgear support. Did you purchase new?
