RBK23 connecting to NBN Arris not working

Hi

I am trying to connect a new Orbi Netgear router to the NBN arris box.

My service provider is internode and it looks like they only want to support a few router brands of their choice.

Is it possible to configure the Orbi to make it connect.

  • Internode use VLAN tagging for their HFC NBN connections.

You need to enable that and set it to VLAN2 for it to work.

    https://www.internode.on.net/support/guides/general_settings/

    HFC/FTTC: Ethernet WAN (with 802.1q VLAN 2)

(shouldn't need to do the mac cloning though)

In the Orbi config -> Advanced Settings -> VLAN section and set the "Set VLAN by group" option for internet to VLAN ID 2.

*note - you may need to update your firmware first.

Not a lot of help. CM probably means cable modem. But Google shows a whole raft of CM model numbers.

The full details could be important. Especially of your "CM" is also a router.

  • What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
