RBK50 and Vodafone Gigabox

Hi there

I have just ordered a RBK50 (its on its way) to install with my Vodafone Gigabox

However, I have been advised that VOIP service I have will ONLY run when connected to the Gigabox

Someone advised I can just leave my VOIP plugged into the Gigabox router and put the ORBI in AP mode

Hoever, I want the Orbi for parental controils on the wifi and I believe doing so will disable this feature

Can anyone please help a newbie like me ...please

Thanks

Declan

    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

Try option #2 if your modem has a DMZ or IP pass thru so you can run the Orbi in router mode and keep the features needed.

If the VoIP has to be connected to the Main ISP Gigabox, then you'll probably need to leave DHCP enabled there.

What you might try is this, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
