RBK53 - Okay to use just one satellite?

with the router on the first floor and then possibly add the 2nd sat on the upper most floor is not recommended.  will it work? perhaps but others have reported signal strain.

your best bet if you want to run the 2nd sat is put the router on the 2nd floor (if possible) and the 2 sats , one up and one down

Nice thing is you have the option. If your coverage is great, no you don't need it. but if you find dead spots/weak spots, you can always add it in as needed. and if it causes issues, simply remove it. Fairly easy to do both. Maybe stick it in the garage if you want to play. :)
