RBR20 hinter LANCOM Router als Router
Hallo,
ich habe mir neu eine ORBI gekauft (RBR20 und RBS30).
Ich würde gerne den RBR20 hinter einem anderen Router als Router (nicht als AP) betreiben.
Der ORBI soll ein eigenes Netzwerkseg...

Most home routers are ran in single router mode or single NAT. Having double NAT or Trible NAT will be problematic at best. You can use the DMZ on the other routers if you want to for the Orbi. Or use the Orbi in AP mode. If you need MAC filtering, do this on the host routers while the Orbi is in AP mode. They should be able to handle MAC filtering at this point.

Hi,
one more comment:
In AP-Mode:
- Time Plan is visible, but not editable
- Children Access Security is visible, but nothing can be set
- QoS only contains a speedtest - this is not very much for QoS.
I have used netgear products already for years. I hope, the product will get some additional features in the near future.

Glad Ap mode is working.
There are some features that are disabled when in AP mode. This is just the way it is.
Yes, QoS is mostly automatic for Orbi. Just a speed test and it handles it from there. I think that some router mfrs are moving away from having advanced features and doing things more automatic. Seen this with some other mfrs. Trying to make things simpler for the user in some regards.
Pleae voice your requests here however:

Update!
Just for testing purpose I have gone back to Router Mode and (!!and!!) managed to switch off NAT by using a VLAN for all ports.
This keeps most of the enhanced settings active but reports "Internet Access" to be broken, although it works for all clients.
Since this setup is different to AP Mode, but not very much, I will most probably go back to AP Mode.
Just to report, that using the Router Mode without NAT is possible.
