RBR40 Firmware Upgrade

Question

I have an ORBI RBR40 Router and three RBS20 Satellites. I received an email to update my fimware, and it fails through automatic updates. My current firmware version is V1.12.0.30 for the RBR40 and current firmware version for the satellites is V1.12.0.38.

I tried to download and update the lates firmware, which did not work. I don't even see V1.12.0.30 in the list of firmware. I see a host of them listed below. I also tried to download and update to 2.1.1.12, and it didn't work.

You should be able to update FW on the RBS first to recent FW. You can long into the RBS web page on each and apply FW there.&nbsp;
v12 should be able to be applied manually if you downloaded the file, unpacked it and used FireFox browser to apply it to the RBR lastly?&nbsp;

I was unable to update any of the firmware on the RBS20's.

Just to be sure you have a retail Orbi system and no one given to you by an ISP? Or one marked as Verizon Orbi?&nbsp;

First, congratulations on having perhaps the oldest firmware of any Orbi user. (2017 - four years!)

When you read through the previous firmware release notes, do any of them appear to be relevant to your situation?
Japanese? Use Armor or Circle? etc. etc.&nbsp; If none of the notes scream out, "this applies to YOU, Buster", and the Orbi is performing well for you, I am not certain that updating firmware is urgent and only you can decide if the time and frustration of doing so are worth it.

When the automatic firmware update process does not work, there are only two options left:

Manual updates, and
Flash firmware using TFTPwhich is not trivial and can be very frustrating to attempt

By Manual Updates, we mean specifically that after downloading and unpacking the firmware for RBR40 and RBS20

For the satellites, connect your browser directly to the satellite web page.Use the Orbi router Attached Devices page to learn the IP address of each satellite.In the browser enter http://&lt;IP of satellite&gt; as an example: http://192.168.1.2 where '2' is replaced by the correct IPLog into the satellite using the same credentials as the router ("admin" and the router password)Select the bottom menu item: Update FirmwareLocate the satellite *.img file, update it, and the satellite should update and reboot.
For the router, log into the web interface, Advanced Tab, Administration, Firmware UpdateSelect the Manual Update TabLocate the *.img file for the router, etc. etc.

If this is what you have already attempted and it did not work, I would be tempted to "let sleeping dogs lie."
