RBR50 - Cannot connect to admin console (web site) after upgrade to v2.7.4.24
I have a mesh system with an RBR50 and two RBS50. These are v2 devices. I started the upgrade to v2.7.4.24 using the web admin console. At some point I got disconnected (probably when the router was rebooting), and I have since not been able to reconnect to the admin console. The web site/pages do not load. The browser just spins and eventually times out. Everything appears to be working though. I just can't access the admin console via its IP address. The router is configured in bridge mode so using the app is not an option.
Here is what I have done:
- I have tried Edge, Chrome Firefox. Heck, I've even tried curl just to see if I can get a connection. Nothing is returned/loaded.
- I have used PowerShell to test ports 80 and 443 on the router IP, and they are both open.
- I have tried to factory reset the router 3 times, hoping I could go back to a blank slate. The old config just keeps getting loaded.
I am not sure what to do next. Any suggestions?

Hello Kandyman ,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!!!!
I understand that you got disconnected from your RBR50 while updating to the firmware V2.7.4.24.
Resetting your RBR50 using the 30-30-30 reset method has been proven to solve the issue in similar cases.
Below are the steps for a 30-30-30 reset:
- Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds,
- Keep it pressed while you unplug the router from the power source for 30 more seconds,
- Then plug it back in while keeping the button held down for an additional 30 seconds
Best,

Thanks for the reply KevinLiT. The 30-30-30 reset however didn't change anything.
After the reset, the router booted up with a flashing red power light. I connected via ethernet and noticed I could access the router at 192.168.1.1, but it wasn't the full UI. It was the miniWeb Server through which I could load a firmware.
I uploaded RBR50-V2.7.4.24.img but after uploading I got the message "The file transferred is not a valid firmware image". I tried the previous firmware version image file also, but same message.
Went back to the miniWeb Server page and clicked "Restore default NVRAM values" and tried uploading the .img file again. Same results.I rebooted the router (unplugged). The router came back up with its old config and the web UI still does not load, like before.

I am dealing with the exact same issue with my RBR50v2 ever since the 2.7.4.24 firmware. I also cannot do anything to revert the firmware either. That update completely ruined my ability to manage the router or use the parental controls/Orbi app. Internet still works of course, but I no longer can manage anything.
The one time I could get a factory reset to work, it was fine until it pushed that firmware update at some point and a month later lost the admin tools again.
This is tiring, wish netgear could help us here. I have seen numerous reports online of people with the same issues....
