RBR50 Slow Hard Wired Download Speeds

When I test the speed through the Orbi App or logged in via orbilogin.com the download speeds are 460 to 470 mBs.  On my mac hardwired through a Netgear 1GB switch and Cat 5e wire my download speeds max out at 270 mBs.

I am sure there is a setting that is reducing my speeds.  I have turned off Guest Access.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

What is the Mfr and model# of the ethernet switch in the configuration?

Remove the switch from the mix and use a wired PC connected to the back of the RBR.

IF you have enabled any Access Controls, Traffic Meter on the RBR, you'll need to factory reset the RBR and setup from scratch. This time don't enable any AC, TM or Speedtest with in the RBR. Just setup the RBR, then run a speed test using Ooklas installable speed test app on your PC. CAT6 is recommended.

Test your wired PC out directly connected to the ISP modem as well.

  • Tried with Surface Book and MacBook Pro as well as phones that are gigabit internet capable. All devices are on 5ghz according to Orbi "connected devices list". Doesn't matter which device connected on wifi, all show download speed cut in half. However, if I plug any laptop directly into Orbi, download speed is at full 300mbps+. Something not right with wifi signal.

      Need more information then this.

What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
