RBR50 steady white light and can't connect to orbilogin.net

I've got an Orbi RBR50 and RBS50, with a Verizon G1100 modem.  Everything worked perfectly until this morning when the Verizon tech rebooted my router to troubleshoot.  My modem reboot worked but then I discovered my RBR50 was not providing wifi.  I rebooted the modem and router several times with no luck on the Orbi. My modem is at 192.168.1.1 and when I login there it shows both the RBR50 and RBS50 as active. The RBR50 is at 10.0.0.1 and the RBS at 10.0.0.4.  I tried connecting to 10.0.0.1 on 3 browsers and got the error about the site taking too long to load.  I also tried connecting to orbilogin.com and .net and am redirected to the Netgear website.  I finally reset the RBR50 to factory settings and tried to setup with Orbi app.  The app failed to find the Orbi even when it was connected to the Orbi network.  I closed the app and when I restarted it will not connect to the ORBIXX network.

I have read the advice at this forum as well as a bunch of others.  I am at a loss.  I would really like to get this working so I can have wifi back.  Any new ideas out there?

  • When connected to the Orbi system with a PC, what IP address do you find on your PC? Should be a 10.x IP address string.

Try 10.0.0.1 in a web browser with a PC connected to the RBR?

Might contact your ISP to have them help you ensure the ISP router is configured correctly for items 1 or 2 listed in the suggestions for ISP modems that have built in routers.

Or give item #3 a try on the RBR.

  • Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router and satellites been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

    Couple of options,
    1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
    2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
    3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

    Try option #2 first...

Thanks for that info.  I tried all of that with no luck.

I did restore my modem settings from a few days ago, when everything worked.  Wireless is off on my modem. From the modem's LAN port I have Ethernet to the Orbi's Internet port.

I cannot get to orbilogin.net or .com. When I try to connect to the orbiXX network, it will not connect.  Same thing with the Orbi app.

When I look at my modem's network settings, I now see the RBR50 is connected to my FIOS modem with an ip of 192.1681.X. The status however is listed as blocked.

I'm pretty confused at this point about why the modem appears to be blocking access to the Orbi.  I have no parental controls, access controls, etc.
