RBR50 still on 2.3.5.30 firmware
Hey I have had the RBR50 for awhile now and haven’t tried updating the firmware for a good while. The last time I tried to do it, it was such a pain and internet kept dropping out. I finally stuck with version 2.3.5.30 and everything seems to be working fine. My question is, am I missing anything performance wise or anything else from the current firmware that would give me a reason on why I should attempt to update? I usually go by the general rule of “if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it”
Thanks for any suggestions.

A lot of users seem to come to the forum because they updated the firmware and now have "problems." I waited about two months to update to 2.5.1.8 and another two months to update to 2.5.1.16 and have had no issues. Maybe my network is too simple have problems, or maybe it is dumb luck. I still have copies of 2.3.5.30 on disk in case I want to "go back."

Same here holding on to 2.3.5.30 I just got the RBK50 2 weeks ago after I upgraded firmware of my old RP7900 router which turned it into a doorstop. So I am leary of fresh Netgear firmware update and will wait a bit. My RBK50 with the old firmware is rock solid and I see no need to change yet.

For those that want to update, if you don't see v16 as a notfication on your Orbi system, you can manually download the FW files and apply them your self thru the RBS and RBRs web page:
Again, for those who want to upgrade. v16 is working well for me on my RBK50 in AP mode.
If yours is working well, then keep whats loaded.
Enjoy.
