RBR50

I have an RBR50 router and want to delete a device no longer using this router, but when I click on it in the Orbi app, and the device details open with "Delete this Device" at the bottom...after I click that I get an Error Message that says "Admin device cannot be block or unblock"  Only option is to click "ok" and the device does not delete.  What is the solution?

Thank you for your help.

The error message is saying that you cannot change the status of the device that is running the Orbi app right now.

    i.e. the "Admin Device"

When Apple and Android made "use a fake MAC address on WiFi" the default instead of "Use actual hardware MAC address", Orbi systems began to fill up with multiple MAC addresses for the same iPhone, iPad, Android phone, etc.

Probably would be a good idea to double check the MAC address on the device you want to delete against the MAC address reported in the Connected Devices information.

    Hello MacBimmer,

    Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!

I understand that you are receiving an error when attempting to delete a device from your Orbi Mesh system network. Please ensure that you are using the most recent version of the Orbi app by visiting the app store for your mobile device. Then ensure that you are not using the Orbi app on the device that you would like to remove.

Please let me know if you need further assistance!

    Best,

    Kevin

Kevin, Thank you for your reply to my issue.

I understand and have been deleted the Apple devices that are loading up my Orbi app, and have gone back into all my devices and turned off the now default Private Wi-Fi setting so only the hardware MAC address is seen by Orbi.  That fixed all my problems except for the issue I wrote about not being able to delete one device that is 'grayed out' in the app as not in use currently.  I was able to delete it when logged into the router in my browser but it won't delete from either of the mobile apps (iPad & iPhone), and as you suggested, I tried deleting from suspect iPad device from my iPhone app, but still the same error message and it won't delete.  Any other suggestions?

        Hello MacBimmer,

Thank you for the additional information!

The previous post mentioned that you successfully removed the device using Orbilogin.com. The Orbi app may need to be refreshed to reflect the most recent changes. Please try clearing the cache for your Orbi app then check your Orbi app for the device (uninstalling and reinstalling the Orbi app will also clear the app cache).

        Best,

        Kevin
