RBS50Y Firmware Upgrade Fails
Currently have the Orbi Pro with 2 additional satellites, hardwired backhaul. I purchased 2 Netgear Orbi Outdoor Satellite RBS50Y units that had the following
firmware: V2.3.0.28 It is suggesting new firmware of V2.3.5.22. While trying to update to the new version via the laptop (wired) they both come back with the following result of firmware V0.0.0.00. I attempted these updates thru the Orbi router as well as thru each individual assigned IP address directly accessing each RBS50Y one at a time. The only way I can get them working again is to reinstall the older version of firmware. ( I was hoping the new version would help increase range, which in my opinion sucks on both units ). Any suggestions would be truly appreciated...thank you

Try downloading the FW files for the RBSY and log into there web pages and manually send the FW file. Be sure you get the RBSY model FW file.
Use IE11 or FF browser.

I only have a Mac, I will try installing the firmware with FF

The most recent firmware version on the Netgear support site is V2.3.5.22. What exactly is recommending a different version? (Orbi app? web interface Firmware Update page?)
I would probably stick with the version on the support site. It seems a bit strange that they have two different Download pages, one for RBS50Y and one for RBS50Yv2. Maybe it matters?

App and Web interface is recomending the update
Well, this beats me. I know that sometimes Netgear's support Download site "lags" behind the product. i.e. the product can update before the files make it to the support site. (Mostly, I think, because the location the Orbi downloads from is different.)
For my RBR50,
The Orbi configuration file has this string: fw_download_url=https://http.fw.updates1.netgear.com/rbs50/V2.3.5/ww
whereas
The Download site is: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/RBR50.aspx#RBR50%20(Orbi%20Router)%20Firmware%20Version%202.3.5.30%20(Read%20Release%20Note%20before%20downloading)
Different web servers completely.
If the "automatic" method won't work, I think the only option is to wait for the support site to catch up.

Per suggestion, I have tryed loading the firmware file via Fire Fox with no luck. The same outcome, overwrites the firmware to V0.0.0.0. Was able to reload the earlier version V2.3.0.28
I would open a support ticket here and get some help from NG:
