Replacement for fried satellite?
I was very happy with my RBS50/AC3000 Orbi, but lightning struck my house and my husband observed the power supply to one satellite glow green then subside - pretty sure it's not supposed to do that! Swapped the power supply with the other, still working satellite, and could not get a power light on the zapped unit. The base and second satellite seem to be fine (although the base is no longer recognizing the satellited, but I also lost the ethernet switch for the wired backhaul, so I'm not worrying about that now).
Do I need to replace the zapped unit with another RBS50/AC3000, or will the base unit work with another type of satellite (or two - it's a very large house)?
Thanks!

If you are lucky enough to find one, any regular Orbi satellite will integrate. (Not the "Pro", not the "AX", and not the RBS10 model).
Of course, the RBS50 has the highest performance and most ethernet ports. But, are these qualities actually pertinent?
The serious issue right now appears to be finding a satellite at all.

This may be a little like "rubbing salt into the wound", but now might be a good time to invest in electrical protection for sensitive electronics. My networking (modem, router, access points, switches), desktop computers, printer, and televisions are all connected to small UPS systems (under $100). The point is not to "keep alive during a power outage", but to avoid the effects of temporary power surges, "on/off" events, etc. At the very least, you might consider power strips with hefty surge protection.

RBS20, RBW30, RBS50, EX7500, EX7700 or EX8000 will work as well.
