Router and Orbi setup
Hi there,
I have purchased a basic modem: http://amzn.eu/d/3OY9rSj and an Orbi RBK50: http://amzn.eu/d/dDnRozS
What is the recommended configuration in regards to using the modem as a mode/router or simply a modem. Is it recommended that the Orbi perform as the router instead?
I appreciate both options will work, but was curious as which configuration is recommended.
Thanks!
- Thanks, I’ll go for that option if recommended.

The modem you selected seems to be a modem only so no router built in. So you can use the Orbi in router mode.

Thanks for your reply.
The DM200 will work in both modem only and (by default) modem/router mode.
So original question still stands ...
the DM200 is a modem only. I don't see any information regarding it having a built in router.

At any rate, the DM when used AS a modem, you can use the Orbi in router mode. Which is the perferred method and configuration for the Orbi syetem.
