When did you get a update from T-Mobile. Still nothing here.
- Retired_MemberSep 03, 2017Worth continuing to note that no changes were made to S8/S8+ WIFI behavior or driver by Samsung on any carrier for the August updates. Any change you're seeing is merely placebo affect.
- spinkickSep 03, 2017ApprenticeLuckily that's an incorrect assumption. The update for August is fixing the s8 on all mesh style devices, check around the internet. It wasn't just An Orbi issue with the s8 and its absolutely solid now for most of us.
In fact, I had an rma s8 phone with an old firmware before the July update and it was stable too. Them July patch confirmed to wreck something, and then August patch its stable again.
Samsung often will make changes and not document them. - StkasmSep 03, 2017Apprentice
Placebo? Lol.
Like people can't distinguish badly broken network from a rock solid one :)
- ameetpSep 03, 2017GuideYes when did you get a tmobile update?

I have read every post in the long thread and am grateful for the guest Wi-Fi workaround suggestion. However, like others, I am still looking for the permanent resolution. I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S8+ with Andriod kernel version 4.4.16-11711626 dated July 14th, 2017. Security software versions
MDF v3.0 rel. 1,
WLAN v 1.0 rel. 1.
VPN v1.4 re. 8.1
ASKS v1.3_161228.
Orbi software version 1.4.0.18
It's encouraging to see that Verizon users have received an updated recently that appears to have resolved the problem. I would like to know if there is any way the Verizon users can correlate what was updated to we can speak intelligently with T-Mobile on what update we are also looking for.
Thank you

Nobody at T-mobile tech support will be able to help you with this, and you cant force them to push the update out. Every provider takes the updates they get from google and samsung and sets up a "push" that then goes to every phone. Thats why you see verizon people talking about how it fixed it. We were all on the July update you were on and they then released the update which included a fix (usually called a ninja fix, because its not listed in patch notes).
So, i would hang tight with the guest network work around that we all used until t-mobile pushes the same update out. It should not be long. They are usually among the first so this is kind of new that they are waiting so long.
