Slow upload speeds at night with RBR50

Something weird started happening about 6 weeks ago where every single night, roughly from 8pm to 11pm, my upload speeds slow to a crawl. It will go from it's usual speed of 20mbps to anywhere from .2mbps to .8mbps. Doing any sort of videoconferencing or gaming is next to impossible since those relies on a steady stream of uploading data. Sometime after 10:30/11pm, it will finally go back to normal. Restarting the modem and Orbi don't seem to do anything. My download speed appears to be normal, giving me upwards of 300mbps down.

I have evil empire Spectrum as my provider, and they've sent multiple people out to try and address the issue. Unfortunately, they can't send a technician out at the hours where my problem is actually occuring so i'm currently in this cycle where basically every 4 days someone comes out to try and troubleshoot it, futzes around with a few things and swears up and down my problems are fixed then leaves, only for it to happen again a few hours later. I have little to no faith in them at this point.

I suspect this is still an issue with Spectrum's service, but I did want to give it my due diligence and see if there was anything I should be checking on the Orbi side of things. Does anybody have any ideas? I'm currently on firmware 2.5.1.8.

Does the issue happen if you're hardwired into the spectrum modem during the slowdown?

its pointless to troubleshoot the orbi if it still happens with a computer directly attached to the modem.

The current firmware is 2.5.1.16 (looks like .32 was pulled for some reason)

I strongly agree with plemans suggestion - First isolate the issue by performing a test using a computer connected directly to your ISP modem (no Orbi) when you notice the performance issue.  Use a browser with speedtest.net before and after.  If the speed is slow for both the Orbi and when connected directly to your ISP modem, then you've proven it is your internet service and not the Orbi.  If the speed is different, we need to do further tests because it points to something with the Orbi.

    Any progress on this?

I udpated the firmware, and I'm going to do a test directly from the modem tonight. Like I said, I suspect it's still a Spectrum issue but may as well continue to try and assess everything I can.

I presume so as well. Keep us posted.
