Trouble connecting HoneywellHome Thermostat T9 to Netgear Nighthawk
Hi,
I am having trouble connecting a Honeywell Home Thermostat to my wifi network
- Thermostat: Honeywell Home T9
- Router: Nighthawk CAX30 AX2700
Detail
- Wifi set up as 2.4G and 5G with WPA2 AES
- Distance between Thermostat and Router ~6ft
- Netgear Firmware Version V1.4.10.8
Things I have tried
- Directly connect using network SSID and password
- Extensive googling
- Disable 5G network & disable SSID from 5G network
- Remove characters / symbols from wifi network name and password
- Hard reset router
- Hard reset thermostat
- Remove network password
- Set network to specific
- Set network to specific channel
- Enable / disable AX
The thermostat finds a large number of networks, many weaker than my own. Thermostat can connect to networks (e.g., tried an open xfinity network).
I would appreciate any help. Also let me know if more technical data would be helpful.

Try this.
Disable the router.
Hotspot your phone with the same ssid/password as you router.
Get the thermostat connected and updated.
then shut off the hotspot and turn the thermostat back on.
I had an instance when my t6 first came out that it needed to connect and update and it wouldn't on an AX device.
so I'd try that.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, the Thermostat doesn't find my iphone hotspot either. Maybe it's an iphone problem. I'll try setting up an older wifi router and see if that lets me connect and update the firmware.

If the thermostat isn't finding the phone or the router, it points at it being a thermostat problem.
